Οι Σκοτσέζοι Primal Scream επιστρέφουν με το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ μετά από οκτώ χρόνια, που έχει τον τίτλο “Come Ahead” και πρόκειται να κυκλοφορήσει στις 8 Νοεμβρίου μέσω της BMG.
Στο επερχόμενο άλμπουμ των Primal Scream, την παραγωγή ανέλαβε ο David Holmes (ο οποίος ήταν επικεφαλής του “More Light” του 2013) μαζί με τους Gillespie και Andrew Innes, προσφέρουν μερικά από τα πιο προσωπικά τραγούδια του συγκροτήματος μέχρι σήμερα. Οι ηχογραφήσεις του “Come Ahead” πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο Μπέλφαστ, το Λονδίνο και το Λος Άντζελες, αντανακλώντας εμφατικά το ευρύ συναισθηματικό και ηχητικό φάσμα του άλμπουμ.
Η δημιουργική διαδικασία του “Come Ahead” ξεκίνησε το 2022, σε μια σκοτεινή περίοδο του σχήματος, όπου ο Gillespie φοβόταν ότι οι Primal Scream δεν θα έκαναν ποτέ άλλο άλμπουμ. Για πρώτη φορά εδώ και χρόνια, οι στίχοι προηγήθηκαν, σηματοδοτώντας μια σημαντική αλλαγή στη δημιουργική τους προσέγγιση. «Η ιστορία ήρθε πρώτη. Ο Μπόμπι έγραφε μόνος του, χρησιμοποιώντας ακουστική κιθάρα. Οι ιδέες έρεαν γρήγορα, σε μεγάλες εκρήξεις έμπνευσης», αποκαλύπτει ο Gillespie. Αυτή η φρέσκια μέθοδος, σε συνδυασμό με την καθοδήγηση του David Holmes, έφερε μια νέα διάσταση στον ήχο της μπάντας.
Από την καινούργια τους δουλειά, οι Primal Scream μας παρουσιάζουν το νέο τους τραγούδι που έχει τον τίτλο “Love Insurrection”, που έχει ως βάση την δεκαετία του ’70, με χορευτικές μελωδίες και ρυθμικές εντάσεις γεμάτες ψυχεδελική funk.
Το “Love Insurrection”, παρουσιάζει ένα μινιμαλιστικό πρόσωπο και η σκηνοθεσία του ανήκει στον Jim Lambie και Alexander James-Aylin, που έχουν ως χρωματική παλέτα το μαύρο, κόκκινο και λευκό τονίζοντας τον έντονο χαρακτήρα του.
